CASE: I-130 (Petitions for Parent) and Adjustment of Status

Our client retained us to petition for his mother, who came to the U.S. from China with a B-2 visitor’s visa in September 2024. Since then, his mother has remained in the United States. He contacted our office to discuss filing an I-130 petition for her, along with an adjustment of status application. After the consultation, he retained our office.
Once retained, our firm prepared and filed both the I-130 Immigrant Petition for Alien Relative and the I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status for his mother on February 20, 2025. Everything proceeded smoothly, with receipt notices and the fingerprint appointment arriving promptly. Eventually, on May 31, 2025, our client’s mother’s adjustment of status application was approved.
