Adjustment of Status Based on K-1 Fiancé Visa Approved for Kenyan Client in Portland Oregon

CASE: Adjustment of Status Based on Approved K-1 Visa

CLIENT: Kenyan

LOCATION: Portland, OR

Our client, a Kenyan national, entered the United States in April 2025 on a K-1 fiancé visa. As the beneficiary of an approved I-129F petition, he married his U.S. citizen petitioner within the required 90-day period. Under U.S. immigration law, K-1 entrants who marry their petitioners within this window are eligible to adjust status to permanent residency.

Following a May 2025 wedding, the client retained our firm to manage his green card application. We prepared and filed his I-485 Adjustment of Status Application on August 14, 2025. The process proceeded efficiently, with all receipt notices and biometric appointments arriving promptly. After thorough preparation via conference calls, our client attended his interview at the Portland, Oregon USCIS office on March 3, 2026. His permanent residency was approved the following day.
