CASE: I-485 Adjustment of Status after Termination of Removal Proceedings with an Approved I-130 Petition
CLIENT: Chinese
LOCATION: Dundalk, MD
Our Chinese client came to the United States in September 2008 on a B-2 visitor visa. She filed an asylum application with USCIS, was interviewed by USCIS, and later her case was referred to the Immigration Court. After the hearing, the Immigration Judge granted Withholding of Removal for our client.
In October 2019, our client married her current U.S. citizen husband. Her husband filed an I-130 petition for our client, and this petition was approved by USCIS. Once the I-130 petition was approved, the Immigration Judge granted our client’s Motion to Terminate Without Prejudice in November 2024.
After her removal proceeding was terminated, our client retained us on December 5, 2024, for her I-485 adjustment of status application. Our firm prepared and filed the I-485 Adjustment of Status Application on December 16, 2024. Everything went smoothly, and the receipt notices, fingerprint appointment, and work permit all arrived on time. Prior to the interview, we thoroughly prepared our client via conference call. On June 30, 2025, our client was interviewed at the Baltimore, Maryland USCIS office. Attorney Sung Hee (Glen) Yu accompanied our client as well. Eventually, on July 1, 2025, her I-485 application was approved. Now, our client is a green card holder.
