CASE: Marriage-Based Adjustment of Status

A client from Indonesia entered the U.S. in January 2024 on a J-1 exchange visitor visa. She married a U.S. citizen in January 2025 and retained our firm on February 25, 2025, to handle her green card application.
On March 18, 2025, our firm filed the I-130 Petition for Alien Relative and I-485 Application to Adjust Status on her behalf. All subsequent documents, including the receipt notices and the fingerprint appointment notice, were received in a timely manner. We thoroughly prepared the couple for their interview through a series of conference calls.
The client’s interview took place on August 7, 2025, at the USCIS office in Cleveland, Ohio. Attorney Sung Hee Yu from our firm accompanied them to the interview.
Just six days later, on August 13, 2025, the client’s green card application was approved.
