I-140 EB3 Approval for Korean Taekwondo Coach and Taekwondo School Petitioner in Chapel Hill North Carolina

CASE: I-140 (EB-3)
EMPLOYER: Taekwondo (Martial Arts) School
BENEFICIARY: Korean
LOCATION: Chapel Hill, NC

Our client, a former Taekwondo athlete currently studying in the United States, is being petitioned by a Taekwondo school for a third-preference (EB-3) employment-based visa. The client holds a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and after consultation, our firm determined that the petitioner could effectively sponsor him as a Taekwondo Coach. Based on his educational and professional background, we concluded he is clearly eligible for EB-3 classification. Our client formally retained our services on November 9, 2023.

Prior to filing the PERM Labor Certification, our firm prepared the prevailing wage request, job order, advertisements, internal postings, and the recruitment report. We ensured strict adherence to the mandatory waiting periods (the 60-day window from the job posting and 30 days from the final advertisement). The prevailing wage request was filed on November 23, 2023. Following the wage determination, the employer filed the job order on April 29, 2024. We filed the PERM application on July 25, 2024, which was subsequently approved on December 9, 2025.

Following the PERM approval, we proceeded with the I-140 petition. Our submission included an ‘Ability to Pay’ letter, the official job offer, the employer’s tax records, and all necessary supporting documentation. The I-140 was filed via Premium Processing on January 16, 2026. On January 27, 2026, the petition was approved without a Request for Evidence (RFE). As his priority date is current, he is now eligible to file his I-485 Adjustment of Status application for permanent residency at any time.
