I-751 Conversion Due to Death of Spouse Removal of Conditions Approved for Filipina Client in Leetonia Ohio

CASE: I-751

APPLICANT: Filipina

LOCATION: Leetonia, OH

Our client contacted our office in March of 2021 regarding her I-751 application.

She is from the Philippines and she married a U.S. citizen in June 2018. She obtained a 2-year conditional green card in December 2019. Her conditional residency terminated in December 2021. To comply with immigration requirements, our client and her husband had to file an I-751 Joint Petition to Remove Conditions. She retained our office on March 30, 2021, and on September 21, 2021, our office filed the I-751 application to the USCIS.

However, in August 2022, her husband passed away. On December 8, 2022, our office prepared and filed the I-751 conversion request to the USCIS and requested the USCIS to convert our client’s I-751 application from joint filing to a waiver case (due to the death of her spouse) On February 11, 2023, the USCIS approved our client’s I-751 application without any Request for Evidence (RFE). She received her 10-year green card.
