CASE: Marriage-Based Adjustment of Status

CLIENT: Filipina

LOCATION: Hillister, TX

Our client came to the United States from the Philippines in March 2021 with a B-2 visitor visa. Since then, she has remained in the United States. She married a U.S. Citizen in July 2021. She retained our office on January 16, 2022 for her green card application. Our firm filed the I-130 Petition and I-485 Adjustment of Status Application on February 10, 2022. All went well and the receipt notices and fingerprint appointment came on time. Before the interview, we prepared our clients via conference calls. On May 15, 2023, our client was interviewed at the Houston, Texas USCIS office. The I-130 petition was approved on the same day of the interview. However, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence for our client and asked our client to explain her old admission to the U.S. as it relates to her previously issued C-1 visa. Our office prepared a brief and filed the response to RFE on June 1, 2023. On June 18, 2023, our client’s green card application was approved.
