O-1B Visa Approval for Korean Lighting Designer in Carbondale Illinois

CASE: I-129 (O-1B Petition)

CLIENT: Korean

LOCATION: Carbondale, IL

Our client contacted us in February 2023 about the possibility of getting an O-1B visa in the United States. He is a renowned lighting designer and is currently working with different playhouses and universities. Our client participated to create the lighting effects for some of the most renowned and celebrated shows in South Korea and the United States. Upon review of his credentials and qualifications, our office determined that he was qualified for the O-1B visa petition, an alien of extraordinary ability in the Arts.

Our office prepared a 25-page brief for our client’s O-1B filing. Our client obtained 6 letters of recommendation from experts in his field of endeavor. Our office also included the shows, works, and achievements he has participated in to show that he is an alien of extraordinary ability in Lighting Design.  Also, our office contacted the United Scenic Artists and obtained a consultation letter (Advisory Opinion Letter) for his case. Lastly, we included his contracts with various employers and itineraries.

Our office filed his I-129 (O-1B) petition to the USCIS California Service Center on June 1, 2023, via premium processing. However, on June 14, 2023, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence (RFE) and asked our client submit the updated contract with one of the prospective employers. Our office filed the Response to RFE on July 5, 2023. On July 10, 2023, the USCIS California Service Center approved the I-129 petition for our client’s O-1B visa.
