CASE: Marriage-Based Adjustment of Status

Our client came to the U.S. from Spain as a J-1 exchange visitor to work as a teacher. His J-1 program was not subject to the two-year foreign residency requirement. He married a U.S. citizen in August 2025 and retained our office to handle her green card application. Our firm filed the I-130 Petition and I-485 Application on February 2, 2026. Before the interview, we prepared our clients via conference calls. On April 17, 2026, our client was interviewed at the Durham, NC, USCIS office. The next day, our client’s green card was approved.
