Our client came to the United States from Brazil on a J-1 exchange visitor visa. Her J-1 program was not subject to the 2-year foreign residency requirement. She married a U.S. Citizen in October 2022. She later retained our office on October 21, 2022 for her green card application. Our firm filed the I-130 Petition and I-485 Adjustment of Status Application on November 17, 2022. All went smoothly and the receipt notices and fingerprint appointment came on time. On February 2, 2022, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence and asked our client to submit her bona fide marital evidence with her U.S. citizen husband. Our office filed our client’s response to RFE with numerous bona fide marital evidence on April 10, 2023 and. On April 12, 2023, our client’s green card application was approved.
