Green Card Based on I-360 VAWA (Spouse of Abusive LPR) Approved for Chinese Client in Dublin Ohio

Our client is from China and who came to the U.S. on an F-1 Visa in 2011.  She had an LPR (Green Card Holder) husband.  Their relationship deteriorated and they ended up in divorce. 

In 2019, she contacted our office to seek for legal representation for her I-360 petition VAWA petition. Based on her account of their post-marital life, she based abused by her husband.  With her story and evidence, our office determined that she would be eligible for I-360 self-petition as the spouse of an abusive LPR. 

Our client experienced domestic violence and spousal abuse during her marriage. Her husband physically and mentally abused our client throughout the years. Thus, we filed and prepared her I-360 petition, which included several exhibits and a detailed brief to the USCIS Vermont Service Center on November 4, 2019.  On December 17, 2021, the USCIS Vermont Service Center approved our client’s I-360 petition. 

With the approved I-360 petition, our firm filed the Adjustment of Status Application on May 6, 2022.  All went well and the receipt notices, fingerprint appointment, and work permits came on time. Prior to the interview, we thoroughly prepared our clients. On April 19, 2023, our client was interviewed at the Columbus, OH USCIS office.  Attorney Sung Hee (Glen) Yu accompanied our client as well. On April 20, 2023, the USCIS approved our client’s adjustment of status application and issued a green card.
