CASE: Marriage-Based Adjustment of Status

Our client came to the United States from Spain on a J-1 exchange visitor’s visa. His J-1 program was not subject to the 2-year foreign residency requirement. He married a U.S. Citizen in December 2020 and retained our office on July 28, 2021 for his green card application. Our firm filed the I-130 Petition and I-485 Adjustment of Status Application on July 29, 2022. All went well and the receipt notices, fingerprint appointment, and work permits came on time. On March 17, 2023, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence and asked our client to submit bona fide marital evidence with his U.S. citizen wife. Our office filed our client’s response to RFE with numerous evidence on April 10, 2023, and on April 26, 2023, our client’s green card application was approved.
