CASE: Marriage-Based Adjustment of Status

Our client came to the United States from Brazil on a J-1 exchange visitor visa. Her J-1 program was not subject to the 2-year foreign residency requirement. She married a U.S. Citizen in August 2022. She retained our office for her green card application on November 3, 2022. Our firm filed the I-130 Petition and I-485 Adjustment of Status Application on November 14, 2022. All went well and the receipt notices and fingerprint appointment came on time. The I-130 petition was approved by the USCIS on April 4, 2023. On April 4, 2023, the USCIS issued a Request for Evidence and aksed our client submit her I-693 immigration medical record. Our office filed our client’s response to RFE with the I-693 record on April 27, 2023. On May 4, 2023, our client’s green card application was approved.
