Our client is a public school district in Saint Francis, SD. In February 2026, they retained our firm to assist with an H-1B extension for a foreign employee. The beneficiary holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, and her role as an elementary school teacher qualifies as a specialty occupation. This position meets the ‘specialty occupation’ criteria as it requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education or its equivalent. The beneficiary has maintained H-1B status with this employer since May 2023.
